FCHS Band Volunteer for Credits Opportunities and Description of Duties

Events from June 2003 to May 2004.  Use this guide to fill out your Volunteer sign up form.

 

        Concession Stand: the band mans two concession stands at all home football games. The work entails stocking, selling, waiting on customers, transferring merchandise between the two stands, and clean up. Volunteers will arrive before the game to help set up the stands and stay until they are cleaned and shut down. 

Concession Chair - 3 credits

Concession Assistant Chairperson - 2 credits

Working one Friday night concession stand- 1 credit

 

        Dinner Concerts: The band has two dinner concerts a year that help raise revenue for the band. Normally one in the fall and one in the spring. Workers help set up the cafeteria, serve food, clean up, and sell tickets.

Dinner Concert Chair- 2 credits each concert

Workers- 1 credit each concert

 

        Lafayette Classic: Annual all day event fundraiser that invites bands from all over the southeast to attend and compete. Held on a Saturday in October date TBA.

        Miss Pride Pageant: Beauty Pageant held annually in February/ March

        Golf Tournament: Annual event held in May where we invite the community to come for a day of golf and refreshments and raise funds for the band.

       Jazz Festival (Spring):

Stage Coordinator- 1 credit                              Sound Board Chair- 1 credit

Light Panel Chair- 1 credit

 

       "Villages" Amphitheater: Set up of tables and chairs on Saturday before concert and break down after concert on Sunday following. Six concerts planned for summer of 2003.

Chairperson- 1 credit                                                      

Friday / Saturday set up- 1/2 credit per participant
Sunday break down- 1/2 credit per participant

        Pancake Breakfast: Annual event in the spring to cook and sell for the all you can eat Pancake Breakfast.

Chair- 3 credits                                                    Publicity Chair- 2 credits

Ticket Sales Chair- 2 credits                              Sell 25 tickets- 1 credit

Equipment Chair- 1 credits                                 Work shift at Breakfast- 1 credit

 

       Clothing Drive: Conducted twice a year where we collect, sort, transport and sell used clothing.

Chair- 2 credits                                                  Workers- 1 credit

 

       Fruit Sale (Winter): Fundraiser where sold fruit has to be offloaded, sorted, stacked and loaded into cars.

Chairperson- 3 credits                                      Workers 1 credit

Assistant Chair- 1 credit

 

       Hi Fi Buys Chairpersons- 1 credit each

       Chick fil A Calendar Sales Chair- 1 credit

  

       Other general band fundraisers during the year require chairpersons/ workers and will be offered as credit earning opportunities via email as they become available.
